We are one

These YOUs, these Is,
mean nothing,
for across the cosmos,
we are one.

Our wars, our love,
our futile monuments,
are conquered ultimately by time,
which itself is meaningless in eternity,

Our freedom, our bondage,
our victories, our defeats,
are ultimately bound by the world,
which itself is a slave to the universe,

These YOUs, these Is,
mean nothing,
for across the cosmos,
we are one.

a passing thought...

gloom veils our faces,
thick festering mass,
creeping over all thats us,
making today about,
yesterday's horror,
tomorrow's sorrow.

slithers and constricts,
like a vine,
over its unfortunate host,
till it is everything
the world sees,
and the underneath is left for dead.

as we stare it in the face,
our fingers entwine,
and i whisper,
"stay strong, brave face,
the cloud of despair,
shall pass in time.",

and together we shall exclaim,
'ha, it too has finally passed'
drawing you closer for an embrace,
a voice inside me asks,
"what if you are a cloud shading me,
from the bleak out there that is me?"

far end of the world

by the far end of the world i stand,
where sky melts into earth,
intertwining intangibly,
the great abyss,
stares back,
at an emptier shell.

and by the far end of the world i stand,
a paper boat in hand,
to ferry the best of me,
i found in you,
when i looked for me
in you.

and by the far end of the world i stand,
wrapping the best part of me,
in morning mist,
flicked from a better day,
that saw you,
thus was you.

and by the far end of the world i stand,
giving this vessel sight,
with a jar of noble light,
an illuminated jar of glass,
that holds in it,
the moon's reflection,
that fell on you.

and by the far end of the world i stand,
releasing the breath,
i drew from you,
gently on the boat,
till it fills it paper sail,
carrying it gently forth.

by the far end of the world i stand,
the demons of the world behind,
mocking in ferocious sincerity,
watching the paper boat,
slip away from their grip.
they screech, preach and pray,
for they know, even if they get me,
the ark is safe,
even if it be destroyed,
it shall never be taint.
and in this I lie content,
by the far end of the world.

anything but itself

slow determination,
chaotic bends,
like determined vines,
flows love's rot,
reaching nowhere,
reaching everwhere,
until the surface,
is anything but itself.

Humanity...

We give out roses
in full bloom bouquets
when what we really need
is love more than roses

we give out roses,
to make tomorrow better
but how can we look at tomorrow
when yesterday still haunts today?

we give out roses
in the hope
the thorns will get them good
we scream as blood and chaos reigns
the pious pray
the weak cry
the intelligent turn blind
and everyone calls for a saviour
we look to the heavens and call for a saviour
but we all fail to see our saviour
who is here

our saviour and destructor alike
Born to us
from sin
from divine
It holds the key
to so much
to so little

our benefactor
our malefactor
with iron hands
with flesh heart
It makes the world revolve
and revolves around the world

It fights with one hand
cleaving the world
and with the other
healing the gashes

In our human form
we fuel its malfeasance
boisterous laughter
we are devils

In our human form
we extend our hands shielding wounded
righteous action
we are gods

our saviour
our destructor
when will we see
right in front of our eyes
we still call out to the heavens
when who can help us is here
when who can destroy us is here

We give out roses
in full bloom bouquets
when what we really need
is love more than roses

An ode to hope

An ode to hope

I wonder where you went away,
are you truly dead?
or lost to us all?
either way you cease to exist.

even now that you have gone,
your spirit still lingers long,
i still,
feel you in the Internationale,
hear you in a child's laugh,
see you in spring’s blossom.
and i know most believe your still alive,
but I know it’s a beautiful lie,
why did you go away?
leaving us all astray.

I wonder where you went to die,
in desperation I search every kind eye,
look what i have become,
a mendicant now,
here without hope.

in desperation,
I looked for you in the Styx,
in flowing death,
wishing to find,
remnants of your life,
and
I looked for you in Rishikesh,
in flowing life,
wishing to find,
remnants of your death,
i wonder where you went to die.

hope’s last fleeting steps,
across desolate mindscape,
my last memory,
of the great immortal,
infected with mortality.

i wonder where you went to die
i know why you went to die

I wrote this three days back and reworked it today. Something is off here and i'm not happy with this one :( unfortunately I seem to be getting progressively worse instead of getting better. sigh...
